Do I Want to Be Part of the WGS Storytelling Ministry?

Understand these Key Concepts about Storytelling and Orality Ministry

  1. Storytelling is not teaching stories to children in a Sunday school class.
Storytelling is a ministry to reach adults (and children) with the gospel.

  2. Storytelling is not preaching a sermon and using a story illustration in a sermon.
Storytelling is telling a story and helping listeners think through the meaning of the story and discover how it applies to their lives.

  3. Storytelling is not teaching people Bible stories and giving a certificate of completion.
Storytelling is teaching people stories so that they will tell others the stories.

  4. Storytellers understand that in this world of 8 billion people, 5 billion either must learn or prefer to learn through oral methods.
